The Swiss Tavern

The Swiss is a historic landmark nestled in the ever-growing UW Tacoma campus. Originally built by The Swiss Society as a gathering place back in 1913, the half-timbered hall was located between the jobbers' district and the ethnic neighborhoods above Market Street. "The Swiss" provides you with the best in scratch cooking. Their menu ranges from delicious hot and cold sandwiches, authentic Italian pastas, our famous pan-fried in butter oysters, marvelous steamers, a wide variety of salads, fresh home-made soups and a nice assortment of appetizers. They also have daily specials to tantalize and surprise you. It's pub cuisine with a unique northwest twist. They offer live music throughout the week. Monday is the famous Free Blues night with top notch blues performers, starting at 8pm. Friday and Saturday nights feature a variety of top local bands playing dance music.
